Schloss Dagstuhl – Leibniz Center for Informatics, Wadern, Germany, October 7-11, 2019
The goal of the workshop is a better understanding of how metadata specifications can be aligned to support cross-discipline (or cross domain) data integration and analysis. Standards from the social, health and environmental sciences, along with generic all-purpose metadata standards will be under consideration. Three pilot studies in infectious disease, disaster risk and resilient cities provide the framework to test the proposed strategies.
Detailed Workshop Description
The workshop is designed to focus on two dimensions in the interdisciplinary use of data and metadata:
We propose to address those dimensions through the following topics, with a focus on application to two or three case studies. Each area will cover:
This work will serve as the basis for a draft set of guidelines for cross-domain projects, to be promoted more widely. Both the specific projects and more generic requirements will be addressed.
