Qualitative Data Working Group (QDWG)
Purpose: The Qualitative Data Working Group (QDWG) is established under the Scientific Board of the DDI Alliance to support and promote the use of DDI products and standards among organizations, communities, and individuals involved in producing, handling, managing, sharing, archiving, and doing research with qualitative data.
To this end, the group will work on enabling ways for documenting and preparing this data type for reuse, and formulating recommendations on extending DDI products and standards to appropriately describe qualitative data.
The group will also promote these products through central portals (such as QualidataNet) to
encourage wider distribution/ and
get feedback from users.
The QDWG will explore options to represent both mixed data sets (quantitative and qualitative data) and purely qualitative data collections within the context of DDI.
