From last meeting:

  1. Controlled vocab deck - Ready to be uploaded to Zenodo

  2. Questions and Instruments slide deck - Review in progress - to review at the next meeting when Kaia’s available

  3. Categorize each Published Decks on the spreadsheet (one column for each person) and add comments to column G. Possibly extend / modify “Categories” table - Cleaned version sent out to the group in Aug by Kathryn - to send to Training Group for review

  • CDI Training slide decks - need to seek out expertise from others in the alliance (maybe Hilde, Arofan?) include Ember - Alina to write to them and ask and cc. Dan

    1. What is CDI

    2. Variable Cascade (already in the pipeline)

    3. Data Structures in CDI

    4. Datum-Centered Approach - Dan is happy to tak on this sub-topic

    5. Process and Provenance in CDI

      • Our problem is to find authors for these. Dan is a possible person to write them, but he can't do them all. Hilde might have the time for some. We need firm commitments to determine who else is needed.

Discussion at this meeting

  • Programmers deck - Alina

    • Julie Lenoir will provide training and use it as a starting point.

    • Kathryn can consult the training group.

  • Update on the self-training DDI support (this is an example of their work) - Alina: The project is ready. After receiving feedback, a new exercise was developed for review. It will be available in English and French, with a realistic deadline set for early 2026. Alina will share it at EDDI, and Oliver Hopt may translate it into German.

Chairing of this group and need more members. Potentially Kathryn to co-chair with Cat in 2026 until we find someone else who is willing to chair.

For next time when Kaia is available: Cat to make sure Kaia can make the next meeting, we can reschedule to match her availability.

Questions and Survey Instruments in DDI: Maximizing the Value of Your Metadata - finalise? merge or separate?

Current deck statuses (summary):

  1. The DDI Variable Cascade: Describing Data to Optimize Reusability and Comparison- Dan circulated new version, need to include some diagrams used in another slide deck? (Dan to resume working on it)

  2. Controlled vocabularies - Published on Zenodo

  3. DDI for Developers - Now with Julie (Alina)

  4. Questions and Survey Instruments in DDI: Maximizing the Value of Your Metadata - almost ready

  5. DDI Codebook or DDI Lifecycle (add CDI) - Alina is working on it with Romain, will be in French first then translated to English

Actions from this meeting:

  1. Update Spreadsheet with status, notes/actions, full title, who with, latest file name, etc. - Cat ongoing, updated after the meeting

  2. Controlled vocab deck - Cat published on Zenodo

  3. Published Decks spreadsheet

    1. Cat submitted to Training group for review

  4. Review Questions and Survey instruments deck, is it to replace one of the previously published deck as mentioned above - Kaia

  5. Variable cascade deck - Dan working on this and created a new version in Feb 2025, has been put on hold, now revisiting
