  • From last meeting:

  • Two slide decks were sent by Kathryn for everyone to review before this meeting as we will focus on finishing them this year - Understanding metadata and Data Quality. - Dan took on the Understanding metadata deck and it overlaps with another deck, slightly more advanced than the one on zenodo

  • Any volunteers to finish them?

  • Current deck statuses:

  • Unit-Unit_Type-Universe-Population deck (new version from today) - Published as of Feb 14, 2024!

  • How_to_use_the_DDI_Training_Materials_v5 deck - Kathryn has finalized, Hayley has sent to SB review

    1. Reference: feedback (no changes needed)

    2. DDI Training materials page that already exists which we might use: https://ddialliance.org/training/training-materials

  • DDITL_12_1_0_Data_Quality_Webinar - no updates - revisit in 2024; needs edits from TG feedback

    1. This deck was already used a couple years ago for a webinar. It is in Zenodo

    2. The videos are available on the codata site.

  • DDITL_11_1_0_Understanding_Metadata_Feb2023 deck - TG feedback already applied; need two group members to finalize this deck in 2024

    1. We need to decide on a consistent message about structured/unstructured metadata; slide 29/providing an example of schema vs textual

    2. How many decks does this replace? The initial content is overlapping with the Basics of Metadata deck in Zenodo.

  • Alina has reported that a Korean colleague has been working on the translation of three slide decks - the ones that were also translated to French. She will finish them very quickly, probably this week. Their main concern now is to find people able to revise them. Jieun has found social sciences archives in Korea and a sort of Asian CESSDA and they were planning on contacting them for this revision. Is everyone okay with this as these slide decks will be publised under this sub group’s authority. We will need to inform the technical and scientific board once the revision has started. - how do we check the translation is accurate?
