  • Plan to discuss in March or April - For 2024 - review DDI Slide review WG - slide status - Cat has updated the slide status and created a new spreadsheet to go with it, everyone to have a look and comment (added “who with” column, whoever has the latest version should put their name on this column)

  • How_to_use_the_DDI_Training_Materials_v5 deck - Kathryn has finalized, Hayley has sent to SB review, Cat has published to Zenodo within the “Official DDI Training Materials” community on Zenodo

  • DDITL_12_1_0_Data_Quality_Webinar - Kaia will re-review but may take time; Hayley will help

    1. This deck was already used a couple years ago for a webinar. It is in Zenodo

    2. The videos are available on the codata site. Kaia worked on this originally

    3. needs edits from TG feedback - consider emphasizing audience and theme, as needed

      1. “Data Quality” is a tool and specific aspect of DDI-L; not sure what is available in DDI-C and DDI -CDI for this.

  • DDITL_11_1_0_Understanding_Metadata_Feb2023 deck - TG feedback already applied; Dan and Kathryn will work together to finalize

  • We need to decide on a consistent message about structured/unstructured metadata; slide 29/providing an example of schema vs textual (feedback from TG)

    • How many decks does this replace? The initial content is overlapping with the Basics of Metadata deck in Zenodo. Dan was the one who worked on this, this is slightly more advanced than the one on zenodo. Keep the basic one and having this as an extra one? Add disclaimer / description to say that it’s overlapped with the Basics of Metadata.

  • Alina has reported that a Korean colleague has been working on the translation of three slide decks - the ones that were also translated to French. She will finish them very quickly, probably this week. Their main concern now is to find people able to revise them. Jieun has found social sciences archives in Korea and a sort of Asian CESSDA and they were planning on contacting them for this revision. Is everyone okay with this as these slide decks will be published under this sub group’s authority. We will need to inform the technical and scientific board once the revision has started.

    • Group thinks that at least 2 people should be involved in the translation; the person who did it and someone else

      • We may need to create a protocol for translations

      • We may also need to offer the unofficial publishing option, when translations cannot be verified

    • Can people from Asian CESSDA and Alina’s colleague join the TG?

    • Dan may have a colleague who can verify the Korean translation.

  • Korean tranlation - Should finish within 2 weeks, then we can try and contact Asian CESSDA and go from there.

    • Protocol for translations - one person to translate, someone else to review, meeting to discuss with people involved for final decision

    • Link translated slide decks to original slide deck - Alina to link and add to documentation

  • How to Publish Slide Decks

    • Zenodo steps - in progress - pretty much ready to be used, please review ad leave feedback as needed - Cat tested this out and published “How to use the Training Materials Library” deck

    • Who to notify/where to promote after publishing to Zenodo

      • Notify Jared so it can be published to DDI TG site page; Jared is also the person for Twitter/socials - once added to the Official DDI Training Materials community, Jared will be notified automatically for approval, update: Jared has added Kathryn & Cat as managers to the two Zenodo communities (official and unofficial).

    • Who Updated and tested, Cat now added to confluence main page

    • Who does the notifying/promoting - need to determine for the long run

  • Not sure what this is, wait for Alina - Update on the work on the self-training DDI support (this is an example of their work) : it is a work in progress, the person in charge attended the French training we gave last Friday with Hilde and asked a lot of questions about exercises or games on DDI. We already have some of those; Alina plans to find them and translate them into French. - Alina to try and find it or recreate it, to update slide deck “DDI Codebook or DDI Lifecycle (add CDI)” to include link to spreadsheet to make sure we don’t loose it

    4. Maybe a new approach to this deck would be - how to introduce developers to DDI - what do you need to know to get started with DDI as a developer?

      1. Something like this was done at Dagstuhl, train the trainers but that was some time ago

      2. This might be too advanced/out of scope?

      3. Potential webinar planned that may help address this (Adrian, R topic)

  2. Questions and questionnaires slide deck - part of Training Fair for EDDI - low priority at this time
