Roadmap Work Page

The Roadmap work has the following goals:

• Identify the full coverage of DDI and provide a model as a means of describing the coverage of individual products and how they relate to each other

• Look at DDI in terms of related models to identify common coverage, identifying gaps and points of interaction

• Clarify transformation of content between different products to meet the needs of the user community

Currently we are looking at a general conceptual model of the DDI Suite and expanding from that to identify the coverage of individual products. In addition we are looking at major user groups (starting with statistical agencies and GSIM) and looking at their internal requirements in terms of metadata coverage and usage.

PRACTICAL STEPS

The documents we currently have are listed below.

• Lifecycle.pptx is a model of DDI coverage based on DDI-Lifecycle at a conceptual level. We are working on a clearer UML model of this content that can be extended to add content form other specific products

• Metadata Roadmap is a product of StatsCan and reflects the metadata required and used by the agency. This provides an example from another agency that could inform our approach

• Metadata repositories is a product of StatsCan

• Update of the Roadmap created 2021-02-05

• Discussion of the revision
